Follow the workflow below to create exams, prepare optical forms, read answer sheets, and review results.
Teachers sign in with email and password to manage exams, students, answer keys, scans, and results. Students sign in with their student number and teacher code to view their own reports.
Use Create New Exam to define the exam name, level, paper size, sections, question counts, options, group setting, and student number length. Save the form when the preview is correct.
Open Students to add students one by one or import a CSV list. Student number, full name, and class information are used on prefilled optical forms and reports.
Use Ready Form to download a blank PNG/PDF optical form or select students and download prefilled PDF forms with student name, class, and number already placed.
Open Answer Key, choose the group tab if the exam has groups, mark the correct bubbles, and set scoring values. Saving the key lets OptiScan calculate scores automatically.
Open Read OMR Form. Upload photo/PNG files, load a multi-page PDF, or use the live camera. Align the form until the corner markers turn green, then review the transferred answers and save.
Enable Serial Mode (⚡) to scan multiple forms without a manual save step. For PDF: each page is read and saved automatically, then the next page loads. For batch photos: each file is processed in sequence. For camera: the stream stays open after each save. The Serial Mode button appears automatically when a PDF or 2+ photos are loaded. If a scan is already pending when you enable it, saving starts immediately. On error, the mode pauses for manual review.
Open Results to see student scores, correct/wrong/blank counts, rankings, question analysis, and student reports. Reports can be opened from the results and student pages. Use the 🗑 delete button on any row to remove a single scan record without reloading the page.
Use Copy on an exam card when you want to reuse the same form structure, sections, and settings for a new exam without rebuilding it.
Use Delete carefully on exams, students, or scan records. Exam deletion also removes the related form, answer key, and scan results.
OptiScan can be added to your home screen and used like a native app — no App Store or Google Play required. Android (Chrome): tap the ⋮ menu → "Add to Home Screen". iOS (Safari): tap the Share button → "Add to Home Screen". The app opens full-screen without the browser bar.
